International Centre for Technological Innovations (ICTI) offers volunteering opportunity in India for International students. Volunteering are offered in the areas of technology and innovation management, community development, social entrepreneurship, rural and urban development, etc. The programme provides both postgraduate and undergraduate students and recent graduates, an opportunity to discover entrepreneurship in India as well as experience the richness of India’s culture. This will be an opportunity for the candidate to explore how science and technology can be used for sustainable development, employment generation and improving income of communities.

Our projects are focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are a set of well-organized objectives geared towards achieving sustainable development in the fields of the economic, environmental and social sectors. In this way India Volunteering Programme ensure long lasting impact on local community, environment, and the volunteers.

Location
ICTI is based in Alappuzha district of Kerala-India. All volunteers work from ICTI's Alappuzha office. The volunteering will provide opportunity to travel within Kerala and other states of India for project purposes and sightseeing.
Eligibility
Postgraduate and undergraduate students or recent graduates are eligible to join India Volunteering Programme. The candidate can be from any discipline. We accept application from candidates who can volunteer for a minimum duration of one month.

Costs
This is an unpaid volunteering opportunity. All costs related to your documentation, visa, travel, accommodation and maintenance have to be borne by you. All foreigners must apply for Employment Visa (not Tourist) to volunteer with ICTI in India. Fee for preparation of visa documents is 160 Euro.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties of India volunteers include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing courseware and training materials for educating NGOs, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPOs), Start-ups
  • Help in capacity building of NGOs, CSOs, FPOs
  • Develop project reports and documentaries
  • Identify international institutions, organizations, associations and other networks to collaborate in projects
  • Help in identifying and acquiring new technologies from outside India
  • Link overseas entrepreneurs and innovators with Indian FPOs, Start-ups, CSOs
  • Help Farmer Producer Companies, CSOs and Start-ups to expand their services and business overseas
  • Contribute to business plan development for target organizations
  • Preparing project proposals, market research, technology due diligence
  • Make visit to NGOs, Research Institutes, Technology Parks, Government agencies
